About You...

Everyone comes to Tangible Minds for a different reason. I've found the people who love Tangible Minds and benefit from it the most tend to fall into one of these groups.

  • People wanting a realistic, effective solution to a life challenge: These are people wanting to overcome stage fright, procrastination, relationship issues, career problems and other challenges. They want to move forward, but don't feel the obstacles in their way warrant psychotherapy. They also are unsatisfied with solutions and approaches posed by the self-help industry. Tangible Minds fits the bill, giving these people an immediate sense of practicality – they start moving toward their goals starting with the first session.
  • People wanting a more efficient and human alternative to psychotherapy: Although I have heard many stories of excellent therapists, and know several myself, some people come to me after unsatisfying experiences with psychiatrists or psychologists. Some feel they've been reduced to a diagnosis and treated from a recipe book. Others spent countless hours reaching an understanding of why they were having problems or analyzing their thoughts but gaining insufficient ability to change things. Tangible Minds does not diagnose, and it provides support for self-efficacy sometimes lacking in psychotherapy that is practiced under a disease model of "mental illness." It also creates change at the foundation, in the core of the feeling mind, making it far easier to change thoughts, beliefs and behaviors. Disclaimer.
  • People wanting a less risky alternative to medication: Some people who work with me face a difficult choice. They've been diagnosed with a mood disorder and prescribed medication to control it. But taking medication that alters your brain chemistry in ways not even the pharmaceutical researchers can explain can be a bit scary. Becoming a walking laboratory where the physician tinkers with medication cocktails to find the perfect balance of maximum desired effects and minimum side effects can be even more scary. The success of Tangible Minds in helping me and others avoid the perils of medication offers hope and choices to many. Disclaimer.
  • People wanting to be in charge of their own change: Many people who come to me are self-directed in many parts of their life, and they appreciate Tangible Minds because it supports that priority. They find great value in being treated as the expert on their own inner life, and given the tools to implement that expertise to achieve their personal goals in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Therapists and other healers wanting to enhance their repertoire: Recently, I have found psychotherapists, naturopathic doctors, massage therapists, and acupuncturists who are interested in learning the Tangible Minds Inquiry Practice to apply with their own patients and clients. They are excited by the combination of an overarching framework explaining an expanded range of human experience with specific methodology for facilitating movement toward greater wholeness.

So what's the next step?
